Christmas Tree Pickup scheduled for Jan 3-5

Post Date:12/19/2017 4:04 PM
The City of Garden City Parks Department will be providing its annual free Christmas tree pickup service Wednesday, January 3 through Friday, January 5, 2018.

Discarded Christmas trees must be placed next to the curb, in front of your residence, before your scheduled pickup date.  Please do not put trees in the alley or in your trash dumpster. Trees should be free of tinsel, ornaments, and plastic tree bags. Flocked trees will not be picked up. Trees will be recycled to provide mulch for various plants on City property throughout Garden City.

Weather permitting, the Christmas tree curbside pickup schedule is as follow:
January 3, 2018 – North of Kansas Avenue
January 4, 2018 – South of Kansas Avenue and West of Jennie Barker Road
January 5, 2018 – East of Jennie Barker Road and Chapel Heights

If you would like to dispose of your tree before your scheduled pickup date, or if you miss your pickup, you may take your tree to the marked location at the Kiddie Pond entrance gate, south of the Zoo on Finnup Drive. The drop-off site will be marked with a sign and will be open from Wednesday, December 27 through Sunday, January 7. After January 7, an appointment will be necessary to dump trees.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact the Parks Department at (620) 271-1574.

The Garden City Parks Department appreciates your awareness for recycling and wishes you a very happy and safe holiday season!
