The Electric Utility Service Center supplies and maintains all electric meters, security lights, street lights, utility poles and storm sirens.

The Electric Utility Service Center also offers the following services related to your meters:

Meter-Testing:


If you wish to have a meter tested, a written request must be submitted to the Service and Finance Office.  Service and Finance shall issue an order for a test to be made of the accuracy of any metering device.  Testing of a meter more than once within a 12 month period, where the meter is found to be accurate within 3% (over or under) from exact accuracy, shall result in a $50.00 fee charged to the customer making the request.  A meter will only be tested free of charge, once per year, regardless of whos name the account is under.



Utility Medical Alert Form:


If having city utility services is a life-safety issue for you or a loved one in your household due to a medical condition, please complete the Medical Alert form with your doctor and return it to the Service & Finance Department. The Utility Medical Alert form does not excuse your obligation to pay for utility services. Completing and returning the Utility Medical Alert Form will, however, allow the Service & Finance Department and Electric Utility Service Center to flag your service address. In the event of a service outage, your household will be given priority when restoring services.
