Sec. 90-83. - Monthly billing.permanent link to this piece of content

The city clerk shall cause each customer to be furnished monthly by mail a statement of such customer's service account. Failure to receive a bill shall not excuse a customer from the obligation to pay within the time specified. A month as used in this section shall mean a period approximately 30 days.


The City of Garden City offers several convenient payment options listed below:

The City of Garden City accepts cash, check, money order, credit/debit cards both inside or through our drive-up window from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., as well as a secure drop box located at:

We accept credit/debit cards payments over the telephone.  To pay your bill over the telephone, please call 620-276-1100 during normal business hours.



Automatic Bank Withdrawal:

Never pay a late charge again! Automatic Bank Withdrawal conveniently debits the amount due from your checking or savings account on the statement due date. To set up your account for Automatic Bank Withdrawal, print the Application and Contract for Bank Debits of Utility Bills form, complete it, and return it along with a voided check or deposit slip.  Or, complete the back portion of your statement when paying your next bill.  We will photo copy your payment by check, and use the banking information provided for future deductions of your utility bills.


REMINDER:  Please be aware that if you make payment through your bank's online banking system, you should allow 7-10 days for the payment to reach us.



Budget Billing Plan

Take the guesswork out of your monthly utility bills. Set up a predictable billing amount with Budget Billing. Budget Billing averages a stable monthly billing amount based on your service history. Customers are eligible for Budget Billing after service has been established at a location for at least 12 months, and must have a zero balance.  Adjustments to the budget amount are made annually. The Budget Billing Plan works in conjunction with Automatic Bill Payment Plan.  Please contact the Service and Finance Office to find out your what your budget billing amount would be at 620-276-1100.
