NOTICE TO BIDDERS
 

Sealed bids for construction of an underground irrigation system at Clint Lightner Baseball Stadium (CLBS), located at 706 East Maple Street, will be received by the City of Garden City at the City Public Works Director’s Office, 301 N. 8th St., Garden City, KS, until 10:00 a.m., April 6, 2017 at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.  Bids received after that time will be returned unopened.

BIDDERS MUST ATTEND ONE MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING.  TWO MEETING TIMES WILL BE HELD TO ACCOMMODATE ALL BIDDERS.  MEETINGS WILL BE HELD ON-SITE AT 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 21 and Wednesday March 22, 2017. 

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, written by a surety company acceptable to the City, or a certified cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, which will be retained by the City until the contract for the project shall have been executed. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids.  The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.

The City of Garden City will be using several sources of information and criteria in the award of the contract.  In addition to the proposal, the sources and criteria may include:

            Total cost of project   
            Information provided by references regarding the contractor
            The size, scope and level of success of contractors past projects.

Contract documents may be obtained from the City Engineer and are also available electronically at the Document Center, www.garden-city.org.

Where to Find Bid Documents

 

Bid documents for many City projects are available from the City website.  At the bottom of the home page, click on Document Center, then when that page opens, select Engineering, then Projects and then pick the project you are looking for.  If this link doesn't work, click Residential in the top row, the Document Center is in a pop-up menu.

Some projects will be available only through the City's consulting engineer's, please follow the instructions on the specific project advertisement to obtain documents,
