  • Kansas Avenue Widening Entering Phase 4

    The City of Garden City will be widening east Kansas Avenue between Main Street and north Third Street. This project will be completed in six phases, and construction will be underway until the end of August. The tentative schedule for phase four of the widening project, including road closures, is as follows: Phase 4 Closure: South two lanes of Kansas Avenue at the intersection of Third Street Phase Duration: July 5, 2017 - July 31, 2017 (TENTATIVE)

  • Storm Tree Cleanup

    The Public Works Department will be conducting the Storm Tree Cleanup beginning May 9. Because of the large amount of damage City Crews are unable to give a definite schedule at this time. They will keep residents updated as they move through the neighborhoods.

    The City of Garden City will host a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. July 25 in the second-floor meeting room at the City Administrative Center to discuss proposed improvements on east Kansas Avenue between Belmont Street and Anderson Street and between Crewstway Drive and the US Hwy 50 bypass.

    Cleanup work is underway after a winter storm dropped heavy snow on Garden City, bringing downs trees throughout the community. Lee Richardson Zoo and Finnup Park are closed until further notice as City crews work to remove downed trees and make the area safe for visitors.
