Lee Richardson Zoo General Curator 

The Lee Richardson Zoo has an opening for a General Curator. This position is responsible for daily operations of the Animal Care Division - managing the division staff and the zoo animal residents.  Areas of responsibility include animal health and welfare; recruiting, training and supervising animal care personnel; communicating effectively with staff and collaborative partners, assisting with habitat design, collection planning, safety audits of animal facilities, zoo-wide emergency drills, assisting with various public relations functions, collaborating on general zoo operations and other management issues.  The General Curator also oversees permits, animal records, and animal care division budget. The position reports to the Zoo Director. A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences field and three to five years progressive responsibilities in exotic animal care and management, and two to three years supervisory experience in an AZA accredited or similar institution is required.
