Site plans are documents that detail any proposed improvements to a given lot. Each submitted site plan must be accompanied by a site plan application. Site plans for all commercial, industrial and multi-family (three or more units) improvements are required. These site plans are required to be stamped by a licensed architect or engineer in the State of Kansas.
For the submittal process, three hard copy plans and one electronically submitted plan are required to be submitted to the Neighborhood & Development Services department. Site plan reviews are held on Wednesdays; however, the site plan must be submitted by the Friday before the desired review date.
The planning staff will coordinate the review of all site plans. No work can begin on a project until a site plan has been reviewed and approved by the planning staff. A typical site plan takes 7-14 days to go through the review process.
