Garden City Community College Basketball Staff will conduct a boys and girls basketball camp where goal setting, sportsmanship, and leadership are discussed. The camps focus on proper, skills development and good body mechanics with opportunities to practice what the athlete has learned. All skill levels are encouraged. Registration includes a camp basketball t-shirt and is at the GCREC Gym.

This league is for boys and girls in 3rd through 6th grade. Coaches will need to provide a roster with their player’s names on it to the recreation center. Each participant will need to register individually. This league is designed for the more experienced, and competitive teams that want to play at a higher level. There will be an 8-game season followed by a single elimination tournament. Games will be played on Sunday afternoons at the Garden City High School gym. Registration starts on August 28th.

Get your little ones started with the fundamentals of basketball. Open to boys and girls in Pre-K and Kindergarten. This program emphasizes fundamental skills. Children are assigned to teams by school or area. Teams will meet for a 15-minute practice followed by a game with two 12-minute running clock halves. Additionally, teams will have one practice during the week for 30 minutes the first week before their first game. This will be a 6-game season.

This league is for boys and girls in 1st through 6th grade. Workouts for 5th and 6th-grade boys and girls will be held to evaluate players and establish a rating to create teams. Each team will play a 10-game season. Practices are scheduled weekly in school gyms, with practices starting in November.
