WaterSense Irrigation Controller Rebate

Why use a waterspromolabel_blue_lookense controller?

WaterSense controllers react to conditions throughout the irrigation season to adjust for water usage. The controller uses local weather conditions and landscape information to tailor watering schedules to the actual conditions on-site. WaterSense labeled controllers allow watering schedules to match plant water needs. If weather conditions permit, the controller with skip entire watering days, or zones that have vegetation that does not need as much water automatically. A WaterSense controller may accomplish this in several ways: via a weather monitoring device directly attached to the controller, or using readily available weather data that is available from the internet. Typically smart controllers connect to the internet via a Wi-Fi signal in the home and monitor temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and rainfall conditions. It uses this data to develop an evapotranspiration calculation which tells the controller how much water is needed to keep the plant alive.

Controllers that meet the WaterSense Certification are labeled with the WaterSense seal on the packaging. Additionally, the EPA keeps a list of certified controllers on their website.
