Citizens' Academy

Citizens' Academy is an eight-week civic engagement course. Participants meet weekly for approximately three hours on Thursday evenings. The group tours Garden City Regional Airport, the City Administrative Center, Lee Richardson Zoo, and the other City facilities. Presentations are also given by the Fire Department, Police Department, Public Utilities, Public Works, Buffalo Dunes, Golf Course, and more. Dinner is served each week. It's a chance for anyone who's ever wondered how the City works to get a behind-the-scenes look at local government and its services.
